Hope came to us from Houston, TX by way of Madrone Ranch in Spring, 2018. She was born in the year 2000 and is a retired hunter-jumper. She was donated to us because she was experiencing some lameness issues at her job and their barn manager thought she would do well with a job that had a slower pace. Well, they were right! She has become indispensable to Open My World!

Hope is almost 16hh and is great for both our more dependent, heavier riders and our independent riders. She’s even taught a few of our clients how to canter! Clients love to cuddle with her because she is so soft and fuzzy, especially in winter. All of that pretty white hair is hard to keep clean, though. She needs alot of grooming to stay beautiful!

Hope works very hard for Open My World and as such, really enjoys her downtime. Out in the herd, Hope is one of our dominant horses but she loves Cookie and will even share her hay with her. She loves to roll around in the dirt!

Hope and Carley:

“I like it when she canters; she does it really well. And I know that she’s patient. And she always wants carrots! She’s beautiful and has long hair. My favorite thing about her is that she’s taught me how to canter and we’re learning to jump a cross rail!”

Hope needs a sponsor! It costs Open My World approximately $500/month to take care of each one of our horse’s needs, which include:

  • Feed (Hay, Grain, and Supplements)
  • Farrier and Veterinary Care
  • Bedding and Stall Care
  • Training and Conditioning

You can honor hope with a donation given in her memory.  Please visit our donation page with various options to choose from, or make a donation below.
