Hola Amigos! My name is Candela, which means candel, or light in Spanish. I was trained in Argentina to be a polo pony. When I retired from that job, my friend, Sophia and I came to work at Open My World as Therapy Horses. I loved playing polo, but I think I love my new job a million times more! I get to bring joy and health to the people who I get to work with. Everyone is super nice to me so I try to be the nicest horse they could ever meet. I just instinctively know that if I’m gentle and quiet, whatever troubles they have seem to just float away. Then, we really can do some amazing work together. Some of the people I meet sometimes are a little scared of horses at first. When they meet me, I try to be extra calm and quiet and before you know it they forget that they were ever nervous or afraid. Pretty soon, they realize that horses are really special animals, full of love and fun!
