My name is Muñeca, which means “doll” in Spanish, but you are welcome to call me by my English nickname “Moon.” I’m the newest therapy horse at Open My World and I’m just so happy to be here. I was born and trained in Argentina with the two other retired polo ponies that are here, Candela and Sophia. They came to Open My World and started therapy work almost a year before I did. (I started in 2022.) My owner kept me with him because he just couldn’t part with his favorite horse. But, when he saw how well Candela and Sophia were doing with their new job, and how much I missed them, he decided that I needed to join them.

It is so exciting to be working again; and it is fullfilling to have such an important job. I’m loving it so much. I hope I will get to do this work for many years to come. When I get to help a person with a disability to grow strong muscles and to learn new skills, I know it makes their life better. That makes my life better too! How great is that? You can join me in helping, because when you help take care of the therapy horses, you help the whole program and all the people that come here.

Muñeca needs a sponsor! It costs Open My World approximately $500/month to take care of each one of our horse’s needs, which include:

  • Feed (Hay, Grain, and Supplements)
  • Farrier and Veterinary Care
  • Bedding and Stall Care
  • Training and Conditioning
